So is the Western Digital drive really “a permanent USB interface”?

Yes, Pierre Jolicoeur, it really is a permanent USB interface:
The USB interface of the Western Digital My Passport drive.

as this photo shows.  I was so disappointed in Western Digital when I saw this.  That means I’ll be buying Seagate drives in future.
